At the Ashland Family YMCA, it is our privilege to offer programs that provide social, recreational and educational activities to keep older adults active and involved in our community. Our vision is to encourage healthy aging, regardless of actual age.
Research continues to show that physical activity, regardless of age, plays a crucial role in maintaining a higher quality of life and independence. Not only does proper, safe movement increase your mobility and decrease your risk of injury, but being active also reduces the risk of diabetes, osteoporosis, coronary artery disease and high blood pressure.
Exercise should be fun! The Ashland Family YMCA provides a wide variety of safe group exercise classes, low impact water exercise and small group and personal training that are geared toward increased health and safety, but most importantly: enjoyment!
Social and mental stimulation are equally important to living your best life. The Y is proud to offer social events, community education seminars and group exercise classes that provide chances to create and foster friendships and a sense of community.
The opportunities to keep active in spirit, mind, and body will continue to increase as we add more programming based on the research, desire, and needs of our members, so if you donít see an offering that interests you, let us know! Letís feel great together!
