Overview
At the heart of our Ashland YMCA Gymnastics program is the spirit of community. As we practice cartwheels and pullovers, we also practice kindness and respect. Lifelong friendships are forged, and self esteem is built one handstand at a time.
This program is designed to introduce our Y youth to the fundamentals of gymnastics in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. We aim to foster physical coordination, confidence, and social skills.
Recreation School Age Gymnastics
Beginning to Advance level gymnastics with opportunity to advance to team level classes, or to just do gymnastics for fun.
- Beginning level gymnastics skills: rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round offs, pullovers, hip circles, straddle and squat on vault, etc.
- Intermediate level gymnastics skills: round offs, bridge kickovers, hip circles on bars, and handstand treefall vault mats.
- Advanced level Gymnastics skills: back and front handsprings, walkovers, mill and sole circles on bars, handstands and cartwheels on beam, strength.
Competition Team
Exploring Advanced level gymnastics through competitions. Participants learn to perfect advanced skills on gymnastic equipment and prepare to advance to team. We travel all over the state of Oregon.
Ninja Challenge: Obstacle courses, ninja warrior style!
Challenges kids to get moving and explore their potential in a fun, safe environment. This is dynamic and exciting program combines elements of gymnastics, obstacle course training, and freestyle movement.
Tuition Information:
- Tuition is based on 4, 8 or 12 classes per month and will be pro-rated as needed.
- We do not have make-up classes.
- Registration for the gymnastics/ninja program is for the entire school year, Sept through May.
- All cancellations MUST be in email to gymnastics@ashlandymca.org 1 week prior to the 1st of the month of the class. Program deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Summer Dates: Summer classes begin June 8

Gymnastics
Children who participate in YMCA gymnastics will develop coordination, body strength, and gymnastics skills. They will make friends, improve social skills, and build their self-esteem.

Gym Explorers (Coed, 24–36 months):
Parent participation required.
Half of the class we will learn gymnastics skills with parent help and the last half will be open play on the equipment.

Tumble Tots (Coed, Age 3):
Introduction to gymnastics and the equipment. Emphasis on fun.

Kindergym (Coed, Age 4):
Tumbling and motor development!
Beginning gymnastics skills on equipment for kindergarten aged gymnasts.

PRESCHOOL GYMNASTICS: FUN & EXPLORATION
Introduction to gymnastics and the equipment, with an emphasis on fun! Preschool Gymnastics is designed to be enjoyable and engaging, encouraging children to explore movement and discover their capabilities.
